Thoughtfully painted.
Thoughtfully painted.
Raised in a small town as a granddaughter of an artist, Kelsey Faykus has uncovered her love for watercolors and her gift of creativity. She is in awe of the intentional and loving Father Creator and delights in painting creation through her lens.

I’m feeling tired and maybe a bit weary - are you?
I think my eyes are beginning to droop
And my feet are getting a little heavy
My heart is starting to sense that longing
I’ve been busy
And this storm makes rest hard
The thunder seems louder and the lightening brighter
Makes me think, when is the last time I found rest?
So let’s rest
Come on, I know a place
Well it’s here actually
Right here, somewhere within
In the arms of a loving Father
And still gentle like a mother
How could I forget
Here is the rest
He is the rest
The One who calms the storms
The crashing seas quiet and the wind stills
At the sound of His voice
Here is the peace
Here is the healing
Here is the hope
Here is the joy
Here is the rest
“Can we sit here for a while and just be,” we ask.
“Of course, here…” He whispers, “you will find rest for your souls.”
Searching feet, they wander
further into the desolate
an aimless abyss
deeper into the restless wilderness
barren hearts in the dark of night
burdened souls they carry
far from light
far from home
far from life and love
The wind blows and the Spirit speaks,
"Return."
Oh Israel, Return.
The curtain is torn, Return.
Your sins forgiven, Return.
My grace is sufficient, Return.
Mercies are new every morning, Return.
You are sought out, Return.
Not forsaken, Return.
Beautiful are the feet, Return.
You are My beloved, Return.
About the Illustrator: “Raised in a small town, similar to Bartlett, Kelsey fell in love with the story Jennifer shared of Bartlett’s rich history, its remarkable characters, and the unique spirit of its community. As Kelsey walked the streets of Bartlett and viewed historical photos, she saw the town – its yesterdays, its todays, and its tomorrows - come to life. From there, her paintbrush and creativity partnered to help tell Bartlett’s stories through a world of watercolor.”
(Not an original painting, but she is a work of art in the least)
